Museum’s Mission The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 450,000 visitors each year. © 2018 Museum of Discovery and Science A visit to the Museum of Discovery and Science (“MODS”) is all about the experience, whether it is participating in a hands-on science experiment, encountering one of our animal ambassadors or working together as a team in the new Science Park. This summer, look for a new line-up of daily experiences as we launch a whole series of programs and activities designed to create a passion for the discovery of science, including an early childhood program! Summer kicks off in a big way with our “Summer Savings Pass” – a wonderful way to explore some of South Florida’s greatest attractions including MODS, Lion Country Safari, the Miami Seaquarium and Zoo Miami. This year, we’re adding a new benefit, Summer Savings Passes now include a 50% discount aboard the Brightline train all summer long. Our big summer exhibit is, “Rescue”, sponsored locally by Holy Cross Hospital. Opening May 19, “Rescue” puts you in charge as you discover what it’s like to be involved in land, sea and air rescues. Visitors can engage with exciting hands-on and full-body experiences such as firefighting, surf rescue and sea life survival. Speaking of survival, have you joined us on one of our Sea Turtle Walks? Led by our trained guides, you will enjoy a moonlit adventure on Fort Lauderdale Beach to discover this wonder of nature. From life at sea, to braving the beach as the hatchlings crawl to the ocean, it’s a story of survival. Join us for an experience you’ll never forget! Joseph P. Cox President /CEO
