Exhibits Explore this entertaining exhibit that introduces young children into the world of Curious George, leading visitors on a fun, meaningful interactive math, science and engineering-based adventure while emphasizing the central role that parents and caregivers play. Based on the familiar characters in H.A. and Margret Rey’s classic stories and inspired by the animated television series on PBS KIDS, visitors can operate wheels to help George climb a building, sort and weigh fruits and vegetables at the produce stand, use science skills to putt a hole of mini- golf, climb the rocket from George’s space adventure, build a whirligig, and visit the Museum within the Museum. How does technology help the rescuer? “Rescue” gives visitors a glimpse into what happens in everyday emergencies. Search and rescue operations take place every minute, every hour, every day, all around the world. From the air to the sea and on land, responsive operations are lifelines to many people in times of need. But what does a rescue scenario really involve? Who are the teams who put themselves in these dangerous situations? And do we really know what to do if we find ourselves in need of rescuing? Rescue operations require a high level of training and are undertaken by specialist rescue squads. “Rescue,” the exhibition, delves into this world, exploring topics related to rescue techniques, emergency supplies and equipment. Visitors can engage with exciting hands-on and full-body experiences such as firefighting, surf rescue and ocean survival.
