The Museum of Discovery and Science is proud to announce that the Salah Foundation has made a major gift to support the Museum’s STEM Center for Education and Career Development and related programming. Founded in 2014, the STEM Center offers specialized opportunities to advance knowledge and engage the public in science, technology, engineering, and math. This initiative prepares students for success by raising the level of STEM education, instruction and career interest, and creates a science-literate community by increasing awareness of and engagement in STEM. In recognition of their generosity, the STEM Center will be named in honor of the Salah Foundation. The Salah Foundation supports non-profit organizations in the United States whose missions are to strengthen families and community and advance individuals to become productive and responsible citizens. We thank them for their generous support! Making an Impact Donor Spotlight JOIN US! Sprouting STEM For the second year, the Museum will conduct Sprouting STEM Exhibit Training, a unique continuing education opportunity focused in exhibit design for 80 Broward County school teachers. This program is generously supported by the School Board of Broward County. Science In Action During the course of the 2016/2017 school year, 50 students from Deerfield Beach Middle School participated in an innovative Museum program, Science in Action: An Applied Learning STEM Program Initiative. Students learned the program and exhibits design process by studying the Science Park and the physical science concepts in its exhibits. As part of this program, students created a Student Activity Guide for the Science Park. This guide will be used to teach other student visitors about physical science through various lessons and activities. This program is generously supported by the School Board of Broward County.
