The new IMAX documentary, Superpower Dogs 3D, allows audiences to experience the life-saving super powers and extraordinary bravery of some amazing dogs. The movie stars Halo, a canine member of Florida Task Force 1, the elite disaster response team based right here in South Florida. A signature Spring event here at MODS is, “Eye of the Storm,” our Hurricane Preparedness Day event in partnership with Florida International University. Prepare for the hurricane season by exploring the FPL Storm Center, meeting local meteorologists and even testing the strength of windows and shutters against super powered hurricane force winds. Discover your very own super powers in the spectacular new exhibit, “Hall of Heroes” where you’ll encounter Batman and his iconic Batmobile, Doctor Who’s TARDIS (it’s bigger on the inside!) and even take a selfie with the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. The exhibit then invites you to test your heroic abilities by conquering challenges at interactive stations. MODS offers an enormous variety of programs both on-site and out in the community. Through our Open Doors policy we are working to increase accessibility to these programs. None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of our Board of Trustees, members, benefactors, volunteers and community partners – together we are creating a special place that inspires discovery and instills a passion for science each and every day.
