MODS is one of very few Science Museums in the country that features an animal handling program for visitors throughout the year. A major exhibit in this area includes a Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and Release tank complemented by educational programming and MODS’ Sea Turtle Walks. Please welcome our newest sea turtle ambassador, George! FPL POWER ON! Family Fun Day Thanks to the support of FPL, MODS hosted a Family Fun Day on September 1, 2018. Visitors enjoyed a day of hands-on experiences and demonstrations that taught the importance of power, electricity, safety, storms, and storm restoration in a fun and exciting way. In addition, Museum educators provided Power On! outreach programming for third, forth and fifth graders at all six Sprouting STEM Museum Magnet Schools in Broward County. This hands-on curriculum explored the scientific principles behind power, storms and storm restoration. Welcome to MODS, George! The FPL Cooling Station was a hit with families.
