Museum’s Mission The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 400,000 visitors each year. © 2018 Museum of Discovery and Science Join us this fall at MODS as we travel through time and space on a journey of discovery! Head into the past to discover the scientist who inspired Einstein, Galileo and Da Vinci. Eureka! The Science of Archimedes is an intriguing exhibit that allows you to experience his inventions and discover the genius of his designs. With over 60 historical, interactive models to explore, this exhibit will delight, challenge and inspire! Design! Build! Play! KEVA!, our new exhibit that fuses art and science invites you to create towering sculptures or delicate pieces of art using 15,000 KEVA planks. Part art gallery, part science lab, this is a space for design and invention that nudges scientific minds toward art, and artistic minds toward science. Nature has created a living work of art that we will be sharing in the AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater when we premiere the new IMAX film, Great Barrier Reef. Join us as we dive into one of the seven wonders of the natural world and explore this living treasure trove of biodiversity. We continue the South Pacific theme at our museum gala this October, where we will honor Ronald L. Book with the Community Leadership Award. Ron has worked tirelessly on MODS’ Board of Trustees for ten years providing incredible support and insight. Ron’s support of so many organizations throughout South Florida has impacted the lives of countless children and families. It is people like Ron, our Board members, and all of our supporters who make our community so incredible. Thank you. Joseph P. Cox President/CEO
