The Science of Archimedes showcases inventions and scientific discoveries of Archimedes, the “Father of Modern Science” and takes students on a journey through history and science with a look at the machines of the ancient world. While the concepts are more than 2,000 years old, many of these ancient technologies have been adapted for use today. Students will learn about machines, shapes, mathematics and solve puzzles as they investigate the stunning achievements of Archimedes, a man ahead of his time who inspired the greatest scientists in history.” Students will explore Archimedes’ inventions through four themes – Machines of the Ancient World, Energy Machines, The Power of Shapes and Archimedes Legacy – with many of the displays built for hands-on interaction.
