BFF Campaign Mission

The BFF Campaign is an outreach and fundraising effort to provide youth development and internship programs at MODS. These programs develop basic job skills, help discover career aptitudes, enrich STEM education and help build a better future for the youth in our communities.

In Florida, young adults ages 18-23 are one of the largest growing segments of the homeless population.

The Museum of Discovery and Science adopted the Transition to Independent living (TIL) program to serve this population; a paid internship program that employs young adults aging out of the foster care system in Broward County and gives them the opportunity to gain hands-on job skills and mentorship opportunities that will set them on the path to self-sufficiency.

This is one of the many youth development and outreach initiatives that proudly benefits from the BFF campaign.

With the success of the BFF Campaign, launched by the Friends of MODS Board, we will be able to continue this and other programs designed for the underserved, special needs or economically disadvantage high-achieving student populations,  for years to come.
