WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GIANT SCREEN!
|
It’s official! At 80 ft. wide and 60 ft. tall, the AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater is one of the world’s first Certified Giant Screen™ cinemas and one of the only three Certified Giant Screen™ in Florida.
Okay, great news, you say – but what does this mean for me in the audience? Well, there are so many high-tech alternatives to conventional movie theaters, how do you know what experience you’re getting. It’s quite simple. Look for this icon: |

It says a venue has met or exceeded technical guidelines established by The Giant Screen Cinema Association for both enormity of screen size and immersive experience.
What are the specifications required to be designated as a certified giant screen? According to GSCA’s definition, giant screens are at least:
- 70 feet (21.3 meters) wide, or
- 3,100 square feet (288 square meters) in total area for flat screens, or
- 60 feet (18.3 meters) in diameter for domes, and
- Place all seating within one screen width of the screen plane.

That means you’re going to experience a film on the biggest of big screens. You’re going to be captivated by the sheer size of the images. It’s going to feel like you’re actually in the film, interacting with the characters, like you can touch them.
Awesome, right?
Let’s face it; it’s just not enough to do things big these days. You’ve got to be bigger than big. And we are. And that’s not just us saying it, but an international association certifying it.
So, if you’ve never seen a movie on our screen, you’ve got to come in and check it out. If you have experienced our giant screen, it’s probably about time for a return visit.
We’ve got some great films showing right now – all BIGGER, BETTER AND BOLDER on our Certified Giant Screen™. Click here for films and show times.
